Hidden Treasures

Non-Profit Thrift Store supporting Adults with
Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

mission & who we work with

We’re leading the way by providing comprehensive hands on job training along with individualized life skills coaching for those with intellectual disabilities.

Hidden Treasures was founded by Brad Gilpin as the Owner/Program Director of Care-Rite in 2009 because of limited job opportunities for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). His goal was to create more job opportunities for our individuals to be included in their local community and learn real world skills. Since then, Hidden Treasures has evolved and grown but has maintained a close partnership working with Care-Rite.

When you stop by the store during the week you will see our Care-Rite groups working with their Job Coaches, as well as our more veteran individuals working independently in all aspects of the store.

who you’re supporting

Care-Rite is a family-owned and operated vocational service that supports intellectually disabled adults by teaching them the life skills needed to become more self-sufficient, independent individuals.

The proceeds from our little store are facilitating the enrichment in various other articulation building activities including: art, cooking, sign language, reading, dramatic arts AND life skill classes. Our goal is to have the training skill learned at the store to translate into employment opportunities.

charity partnerships

In addition to working with Care-Rite Vocational we donate a portion of the proceeds to various local charities throughout the year.
